Let’s get our students speaking the target language by learning how we acquire a language in the real world. Remember, as children we listen to people talk for years before we actually start to speak. Yes, we will be talking more than the students at the beginning of the school year, but the students will acquire more of the target language in the long run. In this presentation, you will be exposed to Comprehensible Input strategies to be able to take back to your classroom. We will specifically be demonstrating how we have been using movie talks, card talks, running dictations and sentence stem structures with our students. We will also share some tips on how to be successful when using these methods with students who are accustomed to handouts.

*More listening, moving, writing, and talking in the targeted language
*Multisensory activities for the LOTE classes
*Getting away from the book.
*From the mundane to movement
